ANOTHER CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT EDITION

*ARIZONA CRUISED AGAINST CENTRAL FLORIDA: The Wildcats jumped out to a 14-2 lead and scored 32 points in the first 12 minutes in the 81-59 victory. Brayden Burries led the way with 21 points, his fourth 20+ point performance in the last 5 games. Arizona has won its last 7 games, 4 of them against ranked opponents.

*COLLEGE BASKETBALL’S BIGGEST JOKE IS NO LONGER UNBEATEN: It took 32 games before Miami-Ohio’s season-long, awful rebounding got it beat. The Redhawks were outboarded 43-24 in the 87-83 loss to 16-15 in the Mid-American Conference Tournament. UMass had a 23-8 second chance points edge.

*AUBURN SHOULD NOT BE IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT: 16 losses is far too many, the latest a 62-point offensive outage against Tennessee.

*UCLA’S DONOVAN DENT MADE HISTORY: The 6-2 guard recorded the first triple-double (12 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists) in Big Ten Tournament history.

‍ ‍*NORTH CAROLINA LOOKS LIKE AN OPENING ROUND NCAA TOURNAMENT LOSER: The Tar Heels are 24-8 after Thursday’s loss to Clemson and elite wing Caleb Wilson had season-ending hand surgery last week.

*INJURY UPDATES: Among those not playing Thursday were Louisville wing Mikel Brown (back) and Wisconsin nig man Noah Winter (ankle). Tennessee frontcourt man Nate Ament (leg) returned after missing time to conclude the regular season.
